All in all, this is a lovely example of this first edition by William Boyd, author of the Whitbread Award-winning novel A Good Man in Africa. Boyd has been one of England's most popular authors for years, with several of his books adapted into films and TV series. Restless is arguably one of his best: an espionage tale about a young woman who discovers that her mother was a spy during the Second World War. Boyd expertly transports his reader between the two time periods, exploring the devastating consequences of duplicity and betrayal, painting a remarkable portrait of a female spy amidst the drama of the Second World War. Storytelling at its finest, this beautiful book is a must-have for any modern firsts collection.
