Published by Doubleday, London; 2001. 316pp. 8vo. First edition, third impression. Condition: Fine/Fine. Signed by the author
A beautiful example of this first edition, the twenty-sixth from the Discworld series. Bound in it’s original black cloth boards with gilt title to the spine. The binding is square and tight with barely a hint of bumping to the spine ends, it is in very smart and collectible condition. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or wear, with just a touch of toning to the pages, the book appears barely read. Signed by the author to the title page.
The dust jacket is in equally smart condition, unclipped and as bright as the day it was published, illustrated by Josh Kirby. There is just a touch of bumping to the spine ends and corners, but it is otherwise in free from marks or damage and in excellent condition.
In all, this is a particularly lovely example of this signed first edition, appearing barely read and in near perfect condition. It is the twenty-sixth instalment from Pratchett’s phenomenally successful series, and the last one with a cover illustrated by Josh Kirby. When the Auditors hire Jeremy Clockson to build a perfect hourglass clock with the ability to stop time and thereby eliminate human unpredictability from the universe, it becomes a race against time for Lu Tze and his apprentice Lobsang Ludd in a desperate mission to prevent this from happening and save time. It would be the perfect addition to any book collection or an excellent gift for any lover of the Discworld series.
