Published by Jonathan Cape, London; 1960. 8vo. Condition: Fine / Near Fine.
This smart first edition from the James Bond series by Fleming is in Fine condition. It is bound in the original black cloth boards with white eye to the front and gold gilt title to the spine. Other than some very slight bumping to the spine ends and board corners, the binding is in excellent condition. Inside, other than just a hint of toning and a small stain to the bottom edge of the first few pages, the pages are clean and bright and in lovely condition.
The book is housed in the original dust jacket, which is in Near Fine condition. There is some minor bumping and creasing to the edges, particularly at the spine ends. There is some slight sunning to the jacket as well, but nothing more than the slight shelf wear to be expected of popular firsts such as this. In all, the jacket in very smart, clean condition - a rare find for this book. The jacket is housed in a plastic cover to keep it protected
In all, this is a very smart and collectible example of an increasingly hard to come by James Bond first edition, which would sit well on any shelf and in any collection.
