Published by Jonathan Cape, London; 1998. 8vo. First edition, first printing. Condition: Fine/Fine.
This lovely book is a near-perfect example of the first edition by the popular author Martin Amis. This collection of short stories has been said to rival his novels with their new or inverted worlds and frank satire. This book is in Fine condition, bound in its original navy cloth boards; the binding is square, tight, and in smart condition, free from marks or wear. The pages inside are clean, bright, and blemish-free.
The dust jacket is also in Fine condition, with a tiny amount of bumping at the top of the spine, but otherwise it is clean, bright, and in lovely condition.
In all, this is an excellent example of this modern first edition, which would look smart on any shelf and make a beautiful, original gift.
