Published by Allen Lane, London; 1983. 428pp. 8vo. First edition, first impression. Condition: Fine/Near Fine.

Bound in original navy cloth boards with title in silver to the spine. The binding is square and tight, free from marks or signs of wear aside from the faintest hint of bumping to the spine ends. Inside, the pages are clean and bright, with no blemishes or damage to speak of.

The book is housed in its original first-issue dust jacket. Illustrated by Brian Grimwood, the jacket is also in smart condition, with just a touch of shelf wear to the edges and a crease across the back panel.

All in all, this is a lovely example of Donleavy's sequel to 'The Destinies of Darcy Dancer, Gentleman'. It sees its hero falling in with decidedly poor company, like the dissolute Dublin poet Foxy Slattery, and Ronald Rashers, who absconds with the family silver, before falling head over heels in love with the lissom Leila.
