This series is a set of murder mystery novels set in 12th-century England during the Anarchy, centred on the protagonist, a Welsh Benedictine monk, Brother Cadfael, who aids the law by investigating and solving murders. In this novel, Christmas of 1141 is approaching, and Cadfael finds himself investigating the murder of a priest found drowned in the mill-pool on Christmas Day morning, with his friend HUGH Beringar, the sheriff. This book would be a beautiful addition to any Peter or detective fiction collection.
