Published by Doubleday, London; 2015. 343pp. 8vo. First edition, first impression. Condition: Fine/Fine.
A beautiful example of this first edition, the forty-first from the Discworld series. Bound in it’s original dark blue boards with gilt title to the spine, the binding is square and tight and in very smart, collectible condition with just some minor bumping to the edges. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or wear.
The dust jacket is also in smart condition, unclipped and as bright as the day it was published, illustrated by Paul Kidby. There is a touch of shelf wear to the edges, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.
In all, this is a particularly lovely example of this first edition, appearing barely read and in near perfect condition. It is the forty-first instalment from Pratchett’s phenomenally successful series, and the last book written by Pratchett before his death, and the fifth to be based on the character Tiffany Aching. Deep in the Chalk, something is stirring. The owls and foxes can sense it, and Tiffany Aching feels it on her boots. An old enemy is gathering strength. This is a time of endings and beginnings, old friends and new, a blurring of edges and a shifting of power. Now Tiffany stands between the light and dark, the good and the bad. As the fairy horde prepares for invasion, Tiffany must summon all the witches to stand with her. To protect the land. Her land. This beautiful book would be the perfect addition to any book collection or an excellent gift for any lover of the Discworld series.
