Published by Doubleday, London; 1990. 158pp. 8vo. First edition, first impression. Condition: Very Good+/Fine.
A beautiful example of this first edition, the third instalment in the Bromeliad, or Nomes, Trilogy. Bound in it’s original black boards with gilt title to the spine, the binding is square and tight and in very collectible condition. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or wear, with just a touch of toning to the pages. There is a little evidence of past water damage to the bottom of the pages, with a little crinkling to the paper and a faint water mark to the bottom outer corner. However, this is minimal and the book is still in very smart condition. There is a neat gift inscription to the ffep.
The dust jacket is also in smart condition, unclipped and in lovely, bright condition, with just a touch of fading to the spine. Illustrated by Josh Kirby. There is also a hint of bumping to the edges, but overall it is in excellent condition.
In all, this is a particularly lovely example of this first edition, appearing barely read and in near perfect condition. It is the third and final instalment in Pratchett's Bromeliad, or Nomes, Trilogy. When you're four inches high in a world full of giant people, things never go very well for long. After running into trouble at the quarry, the nomes want to go home. The problem is, 'home' is somewhere in the stars, in some sort of Ship. And so begins an incredible journey, filled with peril, planes, honking geese...and a walking sandwich. This beautiful book would be the perfect addition to any book collection or an excellent gift for any lover of Terry Pratchett's books.
