It is vibrant and bright, beautifully illustrated by Raymond Hawkey, with no markings and just some minor shelf wear to the edges.

In all, this is a particularly lovely example of this first edition by Len Deighton, author of The Ipcress File. Deighton is best known for his espionage and military history-based novels, although this work differs from those in that it's an exposé of the Hollywood film industry, based on Deighton's own experiences. It follows the protagonist, Marshall Stone, a celebrity who is attempting to reclaim his youth by helping a writer begin his biography. Scandals and upsetting memories make this difficult, and the biographer grapples with the new world of stardom. Deighton is credited with the extensive research that underpins this novel, making the story both sadly realistic and compelling. This beautiful example would sit well on any shelf and make an ideal addition to any collection.
