Bound in Blue half leather binding with blue boards. There is rubbing and bumping to the board corners and spine with only a small amount of loss. Otherwise, the binding is storng and free fom significant damage. Inside, the pages are tight adn show only a small amount of toning and age spotting. The rims of pages have a mottled pattern. There is an ownership inscription to the ffep. The book has the errata affixed in front of the preface, which is written by J. G. Lockhart.
In all, this is a very smart, tidy example of the first volume of the memoirs of Sir Walter Scott.
