Published by Hodder & Stoughton, London; 1982. 8vo. 432pp. First edition, second impression. Condition: Fine/Near Fine.

Bound in original black cloth boards with the title in gilt to the spine. The binding is square and tight and in clean, smart condition, free from marks and damage, save a touch of bumping to the spine ends. Inside, the pages are clean and bright, with barely even a hint of toning.

This beautiful book is housed in its original first issue dust jacket, which is also in excellent condition, with just some minor shelf wear to the edges and fading to the spine, but otherwise in lovely condition.

In all, this is a very collectible example of this Booker McConnell prize winning novel by Keneally, upon which the film Schindler's List was based. This epic story of the Second World War is a work of historical fiction based around the very real Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist, who grew into a living legend to the Jews of Cracow with his mission to save the Jewish people. What began as an instinctive distaste for the bully and the pervert was to develop into an increasingly fervent campaign as the anti-Jewish measures of the Nazis escalated. This novel focuses on the life of an extraordinary man ad his fantastic feats.
