Published by Bantam Press, London; 1994. First edition, first impression. 493pp. Condition: Fine/Fine

Bound in original black cloth boards with title to the spine. The binding is square and tight and free from marks or damage, save a little bumping to the corners and spine ends. Inside, the pages are clean and bright with just the usual toning to the edges.

The book is housed in its original, first edition dust jacket, which is also in excellent condition. It is bright and smart, with no wear or marks to speak of, save a touch of bumping to the spine ends and corners, and the price has been clipped.

Against the backdrop of the Gulf War, Frederick Forsyth has complied his most ambitious and powerful novel to date. It is Forsyth at his best, creating a masterful plot on a grand scale. Not until you read this novel do you discover why the Allies did not go to Baghdad or eliminate Saddam Hussein; why the ground invasion was delayed; who really destroyed the Scud threat to Israel; who the secret agent was inside Saddam's inner circle; and why Saddam really thought he could win and thus refused to pull out of Kuwait. None of this has ever been revealed - until now. This is a very smart and collectible first edition of this novel by Forsyth and it would sit well in any modern firsts collection.
