Published by Michael Joseph, London; 1953. 8vo. Very Good+/Near Fine. This lovely book is in Very Good+ condition. It is tightly bound in it’s original red cloth boards with gold gilt lettering to the spine. There is a slight lean to the spine and some mild bumping and rubbing to the spine ends, board edges and corners. There is also a small mark and a slight darnkening of the red cloth to the bottom right corner of the front board, but apart from this the boards are clean and free from damage. Inside, there is an ownership sticker affixed to the inside of the front board and some minor toning to the page edges, and an old stain to the inside of the front board. These are the only issues and otherwise this book is in lovely condition, with clean pages free from marks and damage.
The dust jacket os in Near Fine condition, with just some chipping to the corners, edges and spine ends. There is the odd age spot and slight spotting, and some sunning to the spine, but otherwise the jacket is in very nice condition.
In all, this is a lovely copy of this first edition by Paul Gallico, which follows a woman’s quest for immortality and the unforseen discovery she finds on her travels in search of it in the Holy Land.
