A first Book Club edition of this popular novel by Le Carré, forming the second book in the Karla Trilogy. It is bound in it's original black boards with gilt title to the spine. The binding is tight and clean, with just a little shelf wear to the edges and a tiny mark to the front board.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright, free from blemishes, marks or damage and appearing barely read.
The book is housed in it's original dust jacket. There is shelf wear to the edges, with a tear to the bottom front edge, which has a tape repair, and one to the rear panel. There is a little marking to the top rear edge and rear flap, and some residue from a label to the front panel. In spite of this, the book is in tidy condition and would sit nicely on any shelf.
