Published by Doubleday, London; 2005. 362pp.. 8vo. First edition, first impression. Condition: Fine/Fine.

A beautiful example of this first edition, the thirty-fourth from the Discworld series. Bound in it’s original black boards with gilt title to the spine, the binding is square and tight with barely a hint of bumping to the corners and spine ends, it is in very smart and collectible condition. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or wear, with just a touch of toning to the pages and appearing practically unread.

The dust jacket is also in smart condition, unclipped and as bright as the day it was published, illustrated by Paul Kidby. There is a touch of bumping to the spine ends and corners, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.

In all, this is a particularly lovely example of this first edition, appearing barely read and in near perfect condition. It is the thirty-fourth instalment from Pratchett’s phenomenally successful series, and the seventh City Watch novel. It follows Commander Sam Vimes as he investigates the murder of a dwarf and attempts to prevent the outbreak of war between the trolls and dwarf. With his beloved Watch crumbling around him and war-drums sounding, he must unravel every clue, outwit every assassin and brave any darkness to find the solution. And darkness if following him.. It would be the perfect addition to any book collection or an excellent gift for any lover of the Discworld series.
