Published by Jonathan Cape, London; 1961. 8vo. Condition: Near Fine / Near FIne.
Bound in original black cloth boards with imprint of the skeletal hand to the front board and gold gilt title to the spine. Other than some minor bumping to the edges and a couple of faint marks to the top of the front boad, the binding is in excellent condition, smart and clean.
Inside, other than some slight toning and a few small stains to the outer page rims, the leaves are clean and bright and free from blemishes or damage. This is a very smart example of this popular first edition.
The book is housed in the original dust jacket, with the original price of 15s to the front flap. There is some bumping to the spine ends and the edges, and a small tear to the rear top of the spine measuring about 1 cm. Apart from this, the jacket is in very clean, tidy condition. It is now housed in a plastic cover to ensure no damage occurs.
Overall, this is an excellent example of this popular James Bond first edition, and would sit well in any collection.
